I had a problem to decide of what line to put to RCS2014. And therefore made comparisons. I was sure that I have good line to it and not needed to buy. But it wasn’t so easy. ‘0.17 mm’ / 35 lb Stealth Smooth was a little bit too thick and ‘0.16 mm’ 31 lb Morethan was way too thin for my intended use (Seatrout). 0.18 mm / 35 lbs Morethan 12 might be just perfect but I don’t have that line.

0.16 / 31 lbs Morethan 12 would needed backing which would not be issue, but that line seemed too thin to handle in this use I thought.

0.17 mm / 35 lb Stealth smooth was actually that thick this RCS2014 spool took it only 100 m, which is a little bit too little for casting bombarda. But I spooled those for RCS2014. Lets see do I use it tomorrow or not.

I took macro picture of double Uni (Braid to mono backing / lock to spool.) Mono is 0.25 mm thick. In this picture can be seen that ‘0.17 mm’ Stealth Smooth is a little bit thicker, maybe something 0.30 mm actually. Which is commonly known that Stealth Smooth is much thicker than labelled.

In capacity comparison show that RCS2014 capacity is same as I’ze HLC capacity (which is same as 100M spool).

I scaled full spools. I’ze HLC 34 mm spool weighted 22.2 grams:

I local store was on sale GoPro Sportsman mounts, which was cheap as GoPro product. Mount is very sturdy.

It was hard to find place for GoPro in rod handle. This place was best I could find. But still it isn't good to use for long time.

And yes, Z1016 would be nice reel indeed!

If you have metal bearings, they may be dry. Clean and reoil. Dry metal bearings will do that noise, vibrate laterally and decrease casting distance.

My z spools the whole spool of 40lb jbraid on 2.5oz musky lures. Easily one of the furthest casting reels i've had.

Looks like those are original steel bearings. When dryied reel in warm shover room, it felt like spool is a little stucked. My strong guess is that bearings are corroded and pretty much done. But I'm going to order ceramic hybrids...

....Z2020 is really good caster, regardless of that mine one currently has obvious issue in bearings...

Seems like Z2020 has 3x4x4 mm + 5x11x4 mm spool bearings. Maybe I firstly try to borrow one bearing from Steez 103 spool and another from CT Alphas...

In that video above it's original spool. And 0.20 mm (44 lbs?) and if I remember correct it's 150 m in spool. In point 0:55 in video knot comes in. I didn't remember that before I casted. I took line from 34 mm I'Ze HLC spool and spooled as backing new line and knotted pieces. As I remember correct it was 90 - 100 m line in I'Ze HLC. If so, ~120 m was line out. Maybe 90 - 100 m cast?
