Yeah, the dark side gets darker & darker. i thought buying $300 reels was excessive. Now I'm putting $300 of add-ons/aftermarket bling into em. I tell ya, these damn fish have a grip on us & won't let go. I can't imagine how big the monkey would be if I lived in Japan.
I'm just glad I don't have access to hand carved vagabond baits =;

Just cause I squirrel away my purchases (which thanks to you fine fellows is 3 Megabass X4's, 2 Dobyns Extremes, 3 Chronarch 200e's and a 50e with a carbon fiber handle set up from Semper Fi, 2 Sustains and now Lucky Craft lures all since the snow hit) and wait for wifey to go to bed so I can lay it all out and wear the bearings out of a reel endlessly spinning it...reorganizing my baits by size, then by color, then by...damn color first then size...Looks like I'll have to start over!! doesn't mean I have a problem. The only problem I have would be with her reaction!
That's disgraceful behaviour [-XX -- I would never do anything like that... well, not up until the last 3 months that is,,,, :oops: :cry:

Oops, I just ordered a Nautilus.. crap :strface:

Maybe a few words of wisdom from Van Morrison:

Let's enjoy it while we can
(Let's enjoy it while we can)
Won't you help me sing my song
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road

YES there is a cure or at least a balancer = it's called PERSPECTIVE- but it must by YOUR perspective not the personal irrational ego perspective of some other clown on this forum who has no good sense and has no real interest in you personally but still wishes to splash that nonsense upon you. It must be a perspective that you develop and is yours alone.

I got my perpective altered recently when I fell asleep at the wheel driving, went off the the road, totaled by wonderful Stratos 201 DC, trailer and motor and did about $8K cosmetic damage to my truck. During the process of this episode my truck went back across the road and into the ditch on that side - nobody was coming. So, in the last year, I have had a 4 way bypass, a second heart attack and totaled by boat and trailer without killing myself or anyone else. Talk about a different perspective. Here is what became important - i quit smoking and breathing became fun again. I managed to live - oh I forgot to mention that just prior to the 4 way bypass I had the largest red man reaction they had ever seen - for all you geniuses who don't know what that means, it's a massive reaction to an antiibiotic where your entire body turns red - in my case the bottom half of my heart stopped working temporarily. So, i read about how "smart" some of you are in defining what constitutes a full Pixilla or the beauty or danger of the dark side and I can't help but laugh at the comments.

Here is the reality of what all this has taught me. A lot of you have seen all my Bling Galore posts and know I own some truly exceptional reels. I will continue to do so, but for a different reason - because I love the excellence of the products I have purchased and produced and the quality of the workmanship of people like Ian Shield (e_bassfhisher) and Alan (Calfish) and the incredible excellence of the end product we are privileged to use that THEY create. My reels are different and a bit too much bling for some folks, but I don't care because I created them to please myself.

I am not a highly religious man, but have begun to wonder if perhaps God has a higher purpose for me - otherwise, I have had too many opportunities to be dead in the past year. So I intend to spend whatever time I have remaining investigating that and continue fishing, but won't be buying things JUST to keep up with the JONES because I want to enjoy what I have without the need to overspeed or have an inventory of rods and reels large enought to open a small tackle shop. So there will be BUNCHES of nice stuff for sale in the next 6 weeks. But what I will be left with will still be a very attractive assemblege of some of the finest reels in the world - AND NO PIXY"S OR PIXILLA's. Not my game and NO you don't have to own one of those reels to be an enthusiast. Who the hell ever set the standard for what constitutes a full Pixilla anyway, and who gave them the right to determine that. Do what you want to do with your reel that satisfies YOU, and forget about what anyone else says or thinks - it's not their reel, their money and they aren't using it. Make it YOURS, not THEIRS. Do something different.

He does and He always has and forget religion, He wants a relationship!
Very Good to hear that you endured all that you did.

Pretty sure mhood named and created the first Pixzilla if my memory serves me correctly. If anyone is the authority on what constitutes its parts make up, it's him.

The parts Mr mHood had on the original back in the day are quite a bit different to the many variants I see around today. Personally I like the original the best. Call me olskool, whatever, but in my eyes a true Pixilla has a flat handle and drag star.
