+2 for the Curado B, I had two, and still have one in mint condition, Countless Steelhead, Stripers and King Salmon up to 40lbs and still just as smooth as the day it was new and I have never experienced a single issue, cleaned correctly they would bomb lures with the best at the time and never had one drag washer issue not once! now I did service a number of them that had user abuse or neglect issues! I have not owned another reel that has been as durable or reliable, I seem to burn through gear sets in every reel I own; Curado 101B, 201DHSV, 201i, 301E, Met. 13/MGL, Luna 253, Tat CT Type R, and numerous ABU round reels just to name a few. I call that legendary...Afrayedknot wrote:They were pretty loud on the cast as well due to problems with the pinion gear not completely disengaging and rubbing the spool shaft, but they were workhorse reels. The cu200b was my first casting reel and I will never forget that reel.taylor5877 wrote:Curado B-loose tolerances, bad drag washers (they warp in heat and get pressed flat too easy when the reel is left with the drag on), plastic dragstar and tenstion knob and WTF with the driveshaft bearing design...lots of wasted weight and parts on that one (IMO), reel sits too high, casting distance is mediocre.
