As seen in SS SV and limited Steez reels.

That SS/SV makes me all tingly inside. Hope it comes stateside. I don't have a PayPal, so ordering overseas is difficult.

The SS is sweet and something different, but the Steez LOOKS nice, but are we headed for more variants of the same platform again? *cough* Zillion...

Look out George Lucas, it's Steez strikes back. And people think the steez platform is dead.

Personally I feel that the Steez as we know it has come to an end.The 2 limited editions are probably the platforms swan song.

The SS is the Steez successor.I predict very different reel internals(compared to the Steez).Perhaps even an aluminum frame :-k
The price difference between the Steez and the SS is massive.Performance is stated to be on par =D>
At least Daiwa kept the 34mm spool in the SS/SV(will accept Steez/TDZ/RCS 1016 spools)
Note the SS Air has a 32mm spool
Can't wait till March

x2.. lame move, daiwa.
SS has metal frame,Zaion handle side plate.Comes in at just over 5 ounces.Best of all the price is well under $400.
The 'poor mans' Steez with a SV spool.
How can this be lame ;)
I agree. The SS looks like a winner to me.

Sign me up for one now.... if it has an aluminium frame...... Never been able to pull the trigger on a Steez because of the Magnesium :evil:

SS = Super Steez?

A Steez with metal frame, zaion side plates at a weight, at least in the SV iteration, that is the same range as current Steez. The air version is lighter. This kinda explains why the jdm didn't get the new frame from megabass versions last year. It was retained for the Steez limited this year.
