FWIW, "actual" structural damage is more apt to occur on scratched carbon/scrim than on scratched metal or plastic/carbon on a reel...otherwise "failure" while on the water.

I don't like the Fuji hook keepers, I find them difficult to actually hook a lure into, especially at nite.

So true,I have purchased a number of 'used' Japanese reels with 'hood' rash.
Personally I prefer rods without hangers.

X2 and there cheap and you can pick your color and I feel like it helps keep the hooks away from the blank.
