things to buy in Japan?

Post by toporanger » Mon Mar 24, 2014 10:27 am

So I'm a long time lurker but thought I would ask the experts for their opinion. I leave Friday for the Philippines for 34 days and I plan on taking a day in Japan on the way back. Not sure which airport yet but I'm hoping for Narita.

So what are the things I have to buy while there? I probably won't have room for rods but definetly room for reels and lures.

You do realize what group you're asking right? ;)
I say, grab all the plastics and hardbaits that we don't get here that you can.

I figure I will just walk into the shop with no Japanese language knowledge, but an open pocketbook lol. I expect to blow all my money on crankbaits alone.

custom or limited color megabass baits, megabass or shimano jdm reels, imakatsu baits, cool hats or t-shirts would be a good start ;)

If you haven't seen it before…take it!…remember, if you have buyers remorse on something when you get back, post it here first! =P~

Megabass and ito reels and lures. Deps custom tune rules. Handles and knobs and spools we dont have easy access to. A JDM morrum. Swimbaits...$20k wouldnt even begin to cover what I could drop in a few JDM tackle shops.

please note that usually one day layovers are usually not enough to get in and out of the tackle shops in tokyo as it is usually a 2 hour ride in and 2 hour ride back out from the airport to Shibuya where you will get the most tackle shops in a small area. Good luck.
