Megabass Lin owners needed
Quick question. Does the drag click on these reels as it does on the Ryoga 1016 when line is being pulled out? If so or if not, then which model? Thanks.
Re: Megabass Lin owners needed
No click on outgoing drag on my Lin10 Origin, but I did a mod by replacing the gears with Ryoga 1016HL to get a higher gear ratio and outgoing drag click.
lpquick wrote:The Lin10 is a casting machine I can constantly with minimal effort cast 55 - 60 yds using 1/2 oz. weight with 12# mono. I can do the same with any of my monoblocks I just need to use more thumb, just a tiny bit more effort. I put the Ryoga 1016 HG gears in my Lin10 Origin so instead of 5.8:1 I have 6.3:1 plus clicks on my outgoing drag. When it’s my time to go with a smile on my face I’m taking the Lin with me, you’ll need to literally pry the reel from my cold dead hands. (or I’m not going)

No 'click' on the 25th anniversary.
Re: Megabass Lin owners needed
I need the drag using bait casters when using live bait such as floating shrimp or crabs for reds, the rod is in the holder and the drag is very very light and you want to hear the reel sing when a fish takes the bait. Same for large chubs, large tadpoles or sunfish for big bass, and again for stripers using live mackerel, or pogies. Anytime you’re using lighter gear (bait casting) which has no drag switch and you need to hear the reel when a fish takes the bait. You thumb the reel to strike and dial in the drag while fighting the fish.xxlbass wrote:hah unless your fishing for Sturgeon when would you ever need an clicking drag?newgenleftcrank wrote:Thanks fellas for saving me some money.
