He is the third guy telling me that Daiwa isn't going to make casting round reels anymore. I hope it's not true but it seems to be true....
Very surprised that Megabass would bring back Monoblock though. They still have some Millionaire frames/molds left?

Its hard to tell from the photo. My bet is on the purple 1010 spool from the FX68(perfect for short range accuracy)TeamDaiwaRick wrote:possibly a purple sv spool on the IS71 cover hacking?
Just going on the FX68 handle assembly/drag star on the 'new' Mono, the FX68 may be the main donor
Re: Time to save up...
Has anyone located any more info on the cover hacking? Links?? Anything???

Maybe only Megabass will be creating round reels from now on?kakaryan wrote:lpquick wrote:Schwing!!!!!! Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding tilt tilt tilt tilt tilt.............

Forever's an awfully long time. That said, even if Daiwa has decided to stop producing round reels, I'm sure that the tooling to make them is still around.Afrayedknot wrote:Maybe only Megabass will be creating round reels from now on?kakaryan wrote:lpquick wrote:Schwing!!!!!! Honestly, I think the reality is that Megabass is in the best position to charge the obscene prices that could cover the expense of milling these frames and still be able to turn a (very) healthy profit.
Re: Time to save up...
Hopefully they have a better spool this time. Who wants his reel for casting "short range"? haha.africanbass wrote:Its hard to tell from the photo. My bet is on the purple 1010 spool from the FX68(perfect for short range accuracy)TeamDaiwaRick wrote:possibly a purple sv spool on the IS71 cover hacking?

But my FX68 stock spool does look great in my TD-ito. Purple.

Re: Time to save up...
They still make the millionaire for SW jigging...got a new one released this year. That would mean the basic frame is still accessible to Daiwa /MB. Perhaos the centri brakes millionaires use the same aid plates with a brake drum instead.
