YEN Continues Dropping

Post by GARRIGA » Wed Nov 05, 2014 9:27 pm

My collection of JDM gear is getting near Walmart prices. Well, you get the idea. Wish I had an excuse to rebuild again. Some really good prices out there. Specially Digitaka. Wonder how low will it go.

I just looked around online and I am so sad we cannot import long rods without hassle and fees. There are some crazy deals on rods out there right now.

It will continue to go down. As crazy as it sounds, they need inflation in their country.

It is an attempt to get a little more $$$ out of your pocket.

Japan Angler seems to still be the best as far as prices....Order on Thursday and have it by following Tuesday too.
Only $14.95 shipping via EMS for a Reel too.

They are who I'm referring to. When you do an actual conversion of Yen to dollars, the price should be lower.

Not reel sure what you mean...seems that the conversion b/w Japanese sites is not consistant...it varies day to day and also by method of payment...paypal is the least favorable.

But look at big difference b/w the Japan Angler site and the Japan Lure shop site. Go to upper right and convert and you will see that 47,200 yen is 466.48 with Japanese Lure. and 49,200 is 437.93 with Japan Angler.

Thats what I mean. I'm looking to buy a Stella off of jpangler.com. It is listed at 65,700 yen which converts $570.56 on the conversion calculator you provided but if you convert it on their site, its higher at $584.79.

Pretty sure JPAngler uses PayPal exchange rate, which is lower than market currency exchange rate. For example, the market rate is USD $1 to 114.xx yen, but PayPal exchange rate is USD $1 to 111.xx yen.
