Steez LTD.
Mainly cause I want to fish it and it will make me make that trip down south faster.
It's a 105 but you can always throw in a 103 SV spool or a tuned MB IS spool to increase your capacity. All 3 of my Steez/MB reels are one in their own.

The Steez 105XH will make heads turn and stare at your reel. Some might even drool ( ´ཫ` )
Re: Thoughts on choice?

Also, I can't find any info on whether the Metanium DC has aluminum or brass gears. I am under the assumption that they are brass.

I haven't taken mine apart yet to verify, but based on the pictures Shimano use to show the micro module gearing they appear to be brass.LgMouthGambler wrote:Also, I can't find any info on whether the Metanium DC has aluminum or brass gears. I am under the assumption that they are brass.
If you are using the reel for finesse or bottom contact I prefer the Steez. For moving baits I like the Met DC better. Both are awesome choices if you have the money.

(Full disclosure, I don't own that specific Steez, but rather an IS73 that I have used just about every spool option in. Strangely enough the T3 MX spool wowed me the most in testing though I was throwing Molix Lover which is pretty ideal for casting.)

Thanks for that input. I dont do much bottom contact here in S FL, mostly moving baits.IlliniDawg01 wrote:I haven't taken mine apart yet to verify, but based on the pictures Shimano use to show the micro module gearing they appear to be brass.LgMouthGambler wrote:Also, I can't find any info on whether the Metanium DC has aluminum or brass gears.
