I have a old Met DC and the New Met DC XG, but I still need another reel for my all around casting, trying to decide to get a steez sc or Met MGl, any suggestions guys?

Steez is more finesse, and Met MGL more all around. I think the Met MGL is your answer.

Get the metanium MGL. Awesome reel and works better IMO for lighter baits than the '13 metanium. Hard to go wrong with this reel.

Honestly, the met mgl is like a Ferrari LA ferrari mixed with a Rolls Royce.
I FREAKING LOVE IT...
Cast like a Jato rocket, wieghs like a feather and is as smooth as a baby's butt...lol

I just had the MGL and Chronarch CI4 out today. All factors were in the CI4s favor (longer rod, slick mono) but when casting a Pointer 78 it was clear the MGL definitely out bombed it. It made me laugh out loud when the MGL cut loose. I'd say I was hitting around 50 yards with a 6'6 rod and wiry flouro with a 3/8 oz jerkbait. For those who have the CI4, you know it's no slouch when it comes to distance.

Will the new metanium be available in the US sometime in the future?

Great description. Shimano has hit it out of the park with the Metaniums and the new one is fantastic. =D> I can see myself getting another one soon...

I'm sure they will be shown at ICAST this year.

Is this reel the 16 shimano metanium MGL the same size as the 13 metanium, it appears on the JDM shimano site it states that the reel is 70 size which would make it a smaller reel I assume??

Everything is the same except the paint, spool, knobs, and brakes. It seems like they made some smaller improvements because it seems even smoother than the 13.

It's the exact same frame and side plates.
