The purple on a Cumulus with purple highlights is fantastic. The Orange on a custom gold Lamiglass.

But my fav are the 2 Airy Reds. Fantastic casters. One on a Super Trickster with red trimmings and the other on a Hedgehog.

I like to bring just the 4 to fish the small bayous here.

I have never had an issue with the drag acting up in any way. But the the bass in this area rarely go over 5 pounds. Now the Choupique run bigger and still I have no problem.

I have to say I really enjoy my Zonda 10 and include it with the group.
A purple pixy? Any pics???

What made the Airy Red spool special if you don't mind me asking?
Obviously Craig knows, but it's the R+ type inductor on the spool unlike the others... The extremely rare Airy Red KTF model took it a step further with some machine work to lighten an already light, already outstanding spool. In my mind, it's one of those things that took KTF to a higher level.
Thanks Gary! :D

I said Airy red ONLY because it was my first Pixy that I still have and its a BEAST with the IZE spool and Fully tricked out...
Have many other Pixies that are work horse reels, but that one is my favorite... 8-)

I'm so damn jealous of people with a 9.5+ cosmetic airy red pixzilla :? I want one so bad but its impossible to find an airy red without scratches all over the reel.

Voted Red. Only because I have nothing to compare it to performance-wise.
Actually , it looks the best. Got that going for it to.

Upgrades are allowed, otherwise Type R, PX68 and the SPR are too superior to the older stock Pixy's with their crappy drag etc.
What's wrong with the drag if the reel is used for it's intended purpose?
It stutters even with small trout. Unless its completely turned off, it skips and stutters. Really annoying.
I honestly did not know that. Thanks

Cheap and easy fix though.

Does the IZE spool make a big difference ???
I have an IZE on the way for my PX68 and an extra bearing for the wormshaft --- I hope it will improve the casting perfomance of the reel, especially with lighter lures (e.g. 1/8-1/6 oz).

Does the worm shaft bearing actually make that much of a difference ?

I doubt it - just a cheap "upgrade" that I wanted to try.
However, I have high hopes for the IZE spool...

Airy Red: My first transaction on TT. Forever grateful to Tim(Hoohoorjoo) for parting with this gem. Tim tricked out the reel (zilla)and Dr. Ian performed his magic. It's got the "silver spool" and added air bearings. Paired it with a dx702, this setup is always in the boat with me...always. Bass to crappies to some decent pike, just plan FUN to fish with. Thanks Tim.

No longer have it. Was a project about 6 years ago. Decided i didn't fish freshwater often enough to justify keeping it. The reels and there respective parts were put back in order berore selling.
