Daiwa Global

Post by JWR075 » Fri Jan 22, 2016 9:09 am

Seems Daiwa might do away with separate markets. Both the Japan website and the Australian website are both talking about the Daiwa Global site launching Jan. 29th. Anyone know anything about it.

This was in the Sacramento ISE post:
On a side note, when we asked about new Daiwa reels, the Daiwa rep. was noncommittal, but he did strongly intimate that we were going to see more new reel introductions than most people were expecting.
Maybe it means good things to come [-o<

I think from their part it is a smart move but I wonder what about rods. Seems other regions get better made rods for the same cost as our mid level rods (like the Edge series from Japan). I know at last year's Classic Expo the rep said we would be seeing more JDM reels.

The north america site has the same info too... Going to the ISE show tomorrow in Sac. Maybe one on the reps will have some info.

I'm likely going to an expo in Illinois the end of next week. Maybe I can glean some info as well.

Just got home from the ISE show. The two reps I spoke to today didn't have any info on the global site and were both surprised when I said the same info was also on the north america site now. I guess we may just have to wait til the 29th to see what happens...

Looks like the Global site is now open. After looking around it, it still seems to be a central hub for different websites and one must still go to each website to see products. Guess I was expecting something a little different. Maybe it will change but for now I see nothing impressive about it.

I was expecting something different as well... I guess it's a little easier to go to one site to find out the latest and greatest then going to three separate sites.

Reps at the Chicagoland Expo weren't incredibly knowledgable on the topic. They said it's basically just a central hub in which you can reach all their pages from. What I don't like is that when you go to say, North America, it pulls up a quasi-facebook style page. If you don't know your way around it kind of cluttered things up a bit.
