With the correct rod they do very well.

Re: Pixy info
As much as I love my Pixies ( I got 3 Airy Red, 2 in use and one NIB ) today I wouldn´t spend a dime in upgrading anything in them other than replacing the drag pads for Carbontex. The truth is that there are much better options right now that don´t need any upgrades capable of doing pretty much what the Pixy was able to do.
The exercise of turning a Pixy into a Pixzilla was an expensive chore and still you ended up with a slow reel without a clicking drag star, a TDZ105H could do pretty much the same thing, was faster, had a better drag ( out of the box ) was almost as light and had the clicking drag star and even, a clicking tension knob cab.

Yea but a ZPI CPO301 Spool doesn't fit. (How have you been stranger?)

Re: Pixy info
Another thing to consider, there are now DIY air spools for the Pixy platforms. But they won't fit a SPR because of the different break system.
