Rod for a stella 2500 hgs

Post by capesmallie » Wed Apr 20, 2016 1:39 am

I picked up a 2500 hgs stella and am planning to use it for my drop shot/ finesse set up. I am leaning toward pairing it up with a nrx dsr. Are there any other rods I should be considering

Nrx 842 is a very versatile rod.
You could get by using it for drop shot as well as many other applications.

I have an NRX 842 with a Stella 3000. Amazing combo. That rod can do a lot of things

Megabass X7 Simoom is an awesome rod. I had it paired here and did great.

NRX852, Evoluzion Hedgehog, Simoom, ph3 Amart, or the new Destroyer VLC would be great choices.

I have a 3000XG and it balances out perfectly with a 872s, so for a 2500hgs, I would think the 852s would be perfect.

I have an 872, 852, and a dsr. For me the 852 is too stout for drop shot , but I don't like a whippy fairy wand for it either. I was more interested to see if there were some unnecessarily expensive and audacious jdm offerings out there

2015 Hedgehog - accept no substitute :D

The new Destroyer VLC is definitely another very nice feeling rod, a bit more "multi purpose" than the Hedgehog too.
