Post by Sore Thumb » Wed Nov 16, 2016 6:21 pm

Dont know how to post the link. Daiwa South East Asia have a Red Ryoga SV 1016 coming to market. May just be a teaser, but looks pretty good. Pricey tho.

$707 USD?

I'm sure it's a great reel, but that colour scheme and handle make it look like a cheap ABU C3 or one of their even cheaper versions! The old siver ones looked the part, the LIN reels really look the part, but for $700 they really need to try a bit harder!

If you look at the original prices of the 1016 and 2020 they were not far off that price point .
Now you can find new for $400 ( including the Shrapnel) so we should not expect to be paying $700 for too exceptionally long .

I'm pretty sure that's Singapore dollars. It's about $500 USD.

So would I be right in assuming that the gear set would fit in my slower Ryoga, if it is ever available by it's self?

For those wanting faster gears i have commented in another post here somewhere.
The Catalina 100/200SH gears can be modified to fit and gives you a 7.3:1 ratio.
i have a set in my black ryoga and are going very well.
the modification is the catalina main gear needs the hole in the centre bored out from 8mm to 10mm to suit the ryoga drive shaft. Thats all that is needed then the gears install with no further mods. The gears are available in right and left hand .
to order you just email PLAT for the part number as the catalina bj is not listed in the parts order section.
