Been reading this post since it came up, but haven't watched the video until today. All the superlatives made me feel that all my current Daiwas just aren't up to par. I know that's not what they were trying to tell, that they just trying to sell the A. Reel looks interesting and might make a great flipping reel (+ bass gears). With Steez in the name it better be awesome.

I still find it interesting that they are coming out with a "heavy duty" Steez, but aren't offering it in an 8:1+ Gear Ratio...

From what I've been told and gathered it is a Steez geared for inshore fishing. Handle knobs will need some bearings.
I like TD-Z's

I thought the same thing when I watched it. I now have 2 6.3 geared tws's that I plan to use for spinnerbaits and shallow cranks and those sob's better stay tight and smooth.

Oh I agree 100%. I just prefer faster, 8:1+ gears for certain heavy duty applications.

Ditto, Gary!

I'm still looking forward to their release, however.

I have 3 original Steez 6.3:1, I used for the same thing, they're still as tight and smooth as new.

If this had magforce 3d , it would be the Z 1016 that many have wished for. As it is , its about as close as you will get to a baby Z.
