Single Finest JDM Reel?

Post by Big-Bass » Tue Dec 20, 2016 10:26 am

What are your votes on the truly finest reel ever produced as a JDM reel? Please feel free to share the reel and why. I am truly interested to hear the responses since there are some folks on here that started using tuned TD-Z and Scorpion/Antares models over a decade ago (closer to 15 years) and those that are still younger and getting into JDM reels at this point and what's new now is all the rage. Thanks and best wishes on the water!

In all it's glorious iterations  It's hard to argue that one as I'm also a big TD-Z fan and have been for a very long time. The Monoblock comes to mind for me. There are so many great JDM reels that this thread could go on and on with mentions of outstanding examples.

Would you consider the I'ze Factory Personal Order, Ito 103m, AOI, and Big Bait Special to be JDM? We all know they are TD-Z variants...

Weren't certain models of the regular TD-Z JDM only? The 105H comes to mind.

As far as the OP, its hard to beat the TD-ito for me. It screams JDM.

 Fair enough... Somehow I doubt Teal was referring to the US versions only ;)

My Z200 is awesome, so smooth and the 3D is a great feature. If they could just take 3 to 4 ozs. off it. That said TDZ R+.

Nevertheless, it's important to remember the TD-Z was Daiwa's flagship on both sides of the Pacific. ;)

It's amazing that a platform as old as the TDZ is still at the top of many lists. The td ito is my favorite.

Is the Monoblock JDM or was that sold globally as well?

Of all the ones I have owned...
CQ 51, TDZ, but the Daiwa I'ze Millionaire Light 103 takes the cake for me. 8-) Can't think of a single technique it wouldn't excel at.
