Stella or vanquish

I’m considering getting either a Stella C2000S or the vanquish FW TUNE 1000SHG but I am not sure which one to go with it will be used lure fishing for trout and maybe casting smaller hair hugs for small mouth. Any suggestions on which one to get?

I have never fished a Vanquish, but I own a Stella. Once you won a Stella, everything else pales in comparison. Its fishing perfection.

I find the exsence 3000m is every bit a stella 3000 fi...
with a shorter spool and lighter rotor.
SO for the intended purpose....it fishes a bit better which is both sad and surprising.

I had thought that this might be the case. They have been replacing it every 4 years. 2006, 2010, 2014, and hopefully 2018.

On the op’s topic. I have a 2010 Stella and a 2016 Vanquish and while the Vanquish is a really nice reel I still like the feel of the Stella a bit better. Maybe it is the MG frame in the Stella as opposed to the CI4. I prefer solid feeling to light in all of my reels though, for BC’s I would rather have a Conquest or Antares than a Metanium or other carbon framed reel even on a lightweight jigging rod. Your preference may vary. The difference in the models you mentioned is 20g (~3/4oz) 160g Vanquish FW vs 180g Stella.

PS: If the new Stella is released we should have full details by Jan 20th when the first of the big fishing shows in Japan takes place and it will likely be out around March.

Maybe it is the MG frame in the Stella as opposed to the CI4.

I'm almost certain the '16 vanquish has a magnesium frame w/Ci4 rotor.

I've got a Stella c2000s and a Vanquish 2500XGS. If you're paying retail site prices, get the Vanquish. While the stella is more refined, I don't think it warrants the $300 price increase. If you're able to get it cheaper, then yes - Stella!!!

If money is not a big concern of course, Stella wins hands down. The difference in refinement is so appreciable.

I just saw some information about the 2018 stella coming out from what I read it has X protect, micro module gear 2 that’s all I was able to see you can find photos on Instagram.

The more I find out about the new stella the more I know that I’m going to wait micro module 2 sounds really interesting to me i feel like they made the gear teeth smaller along with this reel having x protect plus more! Just need to decide on which model to pre order there are 4 I’m desiring on eitherbthe 1000sssdh C2000shg C2500shg orbthe 2500shg.
