This makes the XH version the most interesting one imo.

Just received my very nice Steez SV TW XHL, which is very nice.

To correct myself/Hedgehog - and support Tony9 - I will say that the spool in the Steez weighs approx. 11.2 grams with bearing (on my weight).
The SLP 1012 weighs the same as the original Steez spool (at least both spools filled with braid are around 16 grams).

Do you think the reel would be ok for 3/8 - 3/4 oz Jigs?

Would like to use my 7.1:1 for smaller paddle swim baits.

Yup.

I use my 7.1 for all round reaction baits. Casts cranks, jerks, top water, chatterbaits...everything...without a problem.

I want to say I read a comparison of the Steez 1016SV G1 and the ZIllion 1016SV G1 spools and the Zillion version was preferred, as far as the 1016's go? Or am I mis-remembering this?

That was one person's opinion as I recall. Suffice to say, the performance is close. If just buying the spool for plug and play, the added expense isn't really worth the performance. The G1 1012SV is another story imo.

Ah - I just recall they were unobtainable for a long time since everybody had bought them up... nobody had any in stock for a long time. I just popped three of them (Zillion 1016SV G1's) into some Steez A's and have been pleased so far - these are pitching/skipping setups (854/873/894) mainly for 3/8-1/2oz and up + plastics, so I'm not sure the added expense of the 1012SV or ZPI would be warranted at almost double the cost really :).

Same here. The performance I have from adding a Zillion SV TW spool to my Steez A is enough to where I don't feel I need more distance at the cost of almost double price. What shocks me is how the Zillion SV TW spool is clearly better in the Steez A than in the Zillion SV TW. For me the Steez A with that spool will throw lighter with more distance and control, but as lure weight goes up they even out in comparison.

I almost bought another one for my Steez SV TW, but decided to stick with the stock Steez 1016SV spool (not 1012SV) I'm currently running it on my 893 which is mainly senko's, trick worms, speed worms and the like and light jigs on occasion. Only change so far was to swap out to a 90mm handle.
