Looked it up after seeing this post, know nothing about it... Really want to, pretty interesting spool. Does it function like an SV or Magforce Z rotor? Looks very lightweight too, how bad did you end up having to pay?

I actually bought an FX68 just to get the spool (which is a Megabass 1010, just purple) to use in as OG Steez for 1/2 oz jerkbaits. It's going to be going up against an R+ spool in TD-Z so it's gonna have to be good lol. It came at the recommendation of a few guys I trust so I don't think I'll bee disappointed.

There are a few threads I the Reels and Enthusiast Tackle sections I think.

Thx. No hurry, but if you find the spool for sale again, I will be interested :-)
If/when you have it, photos plus weight would be cool.

I have two. I use one in a Steez LTD to cast jerkbaits and the other in a LIN BJ as an alternate pitching spool for heavier flouro. It's an odd spool. It looks like an SV almost and is shallow but casts best with baits over 1/4 oz. It casts 3/8 to 1/2 oz baits really well but doesn't hold much line.

The original 1010 spool was only available through the slp user project

If i had to choose just one 34mm spool, the slp1010 or the fx68 (performance is exactly the same in my experience. the purple spool inside the standard fx68 is my personal fav) would be it. For braid, there are no other spools i'd use over these. Epecially with thin'ish braid in 20lb or lower.

Braid was the plan. After giving it much thought and looking at the spool it sorta lends itself to braid.
I am about to goto Rhode Island so I won't be able to enjoy it for some time now..

I am using my SLP works 1010 spool in a LIN 10. Despite the lower line capacity it is not a finesse spool. I agree it is best with over 1/4 oz. It has high control but maybe not the extreme control of an SV spool. I would say it behaves most like a ZPI RC-002 spool but with less line capacity. Which is nice if using braid, or lighter braid / mono as you don't need to use backing or spool way more line than you ever need to fill it.

I used mine with 8-10lb braid, casting 1/8oz jig heards with a 3 inch plastics. Great control and distance. For a 14.5g spool, i think it is really good even for the lighter stuff. But of course you need light braid for this. Wouldn't be pleasant with 15lb fluoro.
