Air Stream Custom
Interested to hear from anyone with experience with both the Air Stream and an Alphas Finesse Custom. Enough of an increase in performance, given the years of development between them, to justify a purchase. TIA
Re: Air Stream Custom
I know it doesn't answer your question, but did you see the 6 page thread on the reel?
Re: Air Stream Custom
Stock vs stock, yes there is a night and day difference between them in casting lightweight lures. The lighter you go the bigger the difference. Whether its worth buying another reel is up to you. You can get quite a few 33mm spools that fit the finesse custom that will close the gap a bit but the stream custom still has the edge compared to my cosugi works spool which is under 8g with bearing. The main limitation with the stream is the 50m of 4lb line capacity. Its even less than my 918 trout spool in my 50e.

Thanks fellas. Decision has been made for me. My partner says she is picking one up for me when she is in Japan next week.

Just get it. I love it more than my stock aldebaran bfs and CC bfs.

The standard Alphas SV 105 has the same sideplates and it feels very sturdy, not "hollow" at all.SSS wrote:does it feel a bit hollow? both side plates are zaion as far as im aware.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
