the "if you could only buy one BFS rod"
Re: the "if you could only buy one BFS rod"
My other fav would be the Poison Glorious Cover trap
Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

Jackall Nero 6'8" Light power. I kick myself almost daily for selling that one. It landed a 10# bass without breaking a sweat.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Fenwicks are really nice too. I have fished some Glorious rods and I like the Fenwicks a little better but I'm sure Ultimas are amazing. Since you're a Shimano guy my guess is you're pairing it with an Aldebaran? There is a unique synergy with an Aces BFS rod and an Aldebaran as the rods were developed with that reel in mind. The Aces 63L would be great for the techniques you have in mind. The 6ft UL is an amazing DS rod but is a little weak for the other techniques you mentioned plus gives up casting distance to the 63 L.

Kuying Teton UL. That's enough for me. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on the most sensitive blanks when you're most likely gonna be sight fishing.

I have this the F3-67-4x secret shooting, it was a limited online edition. I got one and love it. I can take it anywhere.
According to Megabass it was based on Eiger Northwall.

That's an awesome score, would grab one if it popped up. Never in a million years would I have thought a four piece could come anywhere near a one piece until I recently got the 6'3" Bone Voyage BFS. The Jackson Super Trickster L is one of my top three favorite rods and I'll never part with the little beauty but the Voyage feels just as good, a little more backbone and more accurate casting.Patex wrote:I have this the F3-67-4x secret shooting, it was a limited online edition. Daiwa HL SPR610, handles hardbait/softbait both nicely
Re: the "if you could only buy one BFS rod"
What will you be throwing? Limiting yourself to one rod is like having one tool in your toolbox I have a Point Blank 6'9" MLXF that is a good all around finesse rod, but I would go lighter and shorter if I threw lighter than 1/8 oz more often.
Re: the "if you could only buy one BFS rod"
This past year I have been using a variety of Varivas PE lines. Frequenting thier webpage, I saw this rod become available a few months a go. The baitcast version, although targeted for bass fishing, looks suitable for any type of BFS fishing. Rated for
zero to 7/16oz
I'm thinking my IS79 with a MB Finesse spool would be sweet on this thing, and have a total weight of less than 8oz
It's available at several common proshops. I inquired to Proshop K who has it in stock, he said he would ship it and even though it comes in a hard case, he suggested it's very fragile and if something happens during shipping your on your own..
