New 1012 spool from Daiwa

Post by BARRAMANIAC » Fri Nov 30, 2018 2:31 pm

I have seen in the last week a short youtube clip of a new 1012 G1 mag Z spool coming from SLP works, does anyone have any more info on it. could potentially be another to add to my collection.

I get so confused by all of these spools. 100m/12# capacity, (not that shallow) not classified as an SV but a Mag Z.

Please explain...what does this spool do in comparison to an SV??

In theory, it should offer better consistency, and longer casts for those with a somewhat mature thumb. Obviously I don't know for certain, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be the better choice between the two for stuff below a quarter ounce.

So what is a PE tuned spool. The old morethan has an SV PE tuned spool and the new Morethan has a Mag Z PE spool. What are they doing to the spool to tune it for PE. They are not referencing the 2x line guide, they are referencing the spool.

Thanks for the link. Could just be the spool from the SLP Plat semi order system, released to the public.

I had the same thought but realized the semi-order mag Z option is 1016.
