'19 Steez ct sv tw

Post by KP Duty » Mon Jan 21, 2019 9:50 pm

More compact and 'tough' is what daiwa japan says. So here is a 70 size steez. 150 grams....30mm spool holds 70yds of 12lb line.

I'm going to pre-order one when I see them posted online. I think it will go well with my MB X7 Super Eiger.

I'll be waiting for reviews before ordering, courios to see if it there'll big loss of casting distance compared to current steez sv due to much smaller spool

I don't think any of these reels with the 70 spools were necessarily designed with distance in mind. More so for casting baits down towards the 5 gram range. Not to say they won't bomb cast, but keep in mind the capacity is roughly 80 yds of 10 lb test. Slightly less than the 1012 spools and Alphas SV. I'm curious to see what the braking profile is like on these reels. I feel that the new Steez is more of a side grade to the Steez SV TW, more geared towards finesse, while the former is more of an all rounder that can also do power finesse work.

Yes, these are clearly intended to finesse ready from factory. And in my opinion sv brakes are not designed for distance casting anyway. But regardless of that this CT Steez is very appealing. I can see me with CT Steez in next summer jigging perches in the Gulf of Finland with my Creek co. XR2. Sun is shining and I'm wadding my feet in a sea to cool a little bit. 8-)

This appears to basically be the updated "Pixy" that everyone has asked for the last few yrs. Its actually a smaller o.d. at 30mm vs. the Pixy spool at 31mm.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Yep. Someday I will own one and place it on my Volkey 68L with a set of cork knobs to replace my Silver Mica Pixy with Airy Red spool. Waaaay too rich for my blood to be an early adopter of a super Pixy.

I think that will be a good combo. Right now I'm using an SV Light and though I haven't had just a whole lot of time with it, so far it seems like a great match. I've really only thrown a Duo Rozante 63 and a 1/8th Jackall wacky head with a 4.8 Flick Shake, so I really need to tie a Spinbait 80 on and see what it will do.
This is the way.

Is the frame smaller or just the spool? I have a 1012 which is great. If the frame is a touch smaller, it would be a Pixy SV TW, which I’ve been waiting for?

It looks like a completely different frame. I would assume they made it smaller.

At one point in this YouTube video from plat they produce a Steez A SV TWS and hold it up to compare the difference in size.

The Steez CT is considerably smaller in size.

If it is really a good bit smaller then the Steez sv tw then I am going to have to get one even if I have to sell my current Steez to do it. The thirst for tiny reels is unquenchable.

I really hope they are priced similar to the current Steez offerings
