I keep hearing how smooth the Steez CT is. Is the normal Steez the same or is is worse? Is the normal Stewz not particularly smooth? I've never gotten a. Steez TW for fear of it getting geary and no brass gears to swap in.

The Steez SV TW was the smoothest reel I had ever used, until I got a Steez CT. When I first fished the steez CT, I honestly thought the drag was backed all the way off and I wasn't taking in any line.....then I realized it would have been clicking because of that drag-out alarm. I was astonished how smooth it was, especially given that it was an 8 ratio reel. Unfortunately, I sold that one to pay bills, but I will have another one....or 2.

Both of my Steez SV TW reels (7.0 and 8.1) are as smooth as the previous post describes. Initially, I had to look down to make sure that the drag was engaged. That was "out of the box".
Now after a complete disassembly, cleaning/polishing and lubing with ZPI F-0 Medium and Soft, you spin the handle with a 'flick' like spinning the spool :-) This is after regular fishing from fall 2018 through 2019 and a few times this year.
I would not hesitate on the Steez SV TW especially if you need the greater line capacity.

It has Allen (cap socket) head screws inside the frame thru into the sideplate. Cant recall the exact size.

Yeah, figured this out by just trying a couple of screw heads that I have in my basic tool kit.
Wondering what specific screw driver you guys use in order to access the screws and open the reel without scratching the frame? It is super tight in there and I can not really access the screws with my basic (fat) screw driver.

3 of them have CF handles and one has a Zillion handle. I put the stock knobs on all the handles.

Hi fellas;
I'm thinking to switch my old steez TN that I have paired with my Steez Racing Design Hustler 701MH/H for Steez CT and switch the TN to my RSR jig rod.
I'm using Steez Racing Design Hustler 701MH for weightless softbaits and some light texas applications where I think that skipping will be easier with new CT than old TN.
What do you thinks about Sirs?

I have a Steez CT on my RD Hustler TT and thoroughly enjoy them. I'm using 14# Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai and fishing primarily 3/8 and 1/2 oz tungsten jigs with this combo. The CT skips beautifully.

Thank you very much Bronzefly for your feedback, I'm been reading that CT suits much better en M or ML rods and just because I was asking about to pair it with a Steez RD. I expect that it performs much better than old steez TN...

You're welcome. The Steez CT would go well on any of the RD rods, so long as you match the right line weight and have enough capacity. I also have the Jigga Stick that I've used the CT with 20# FC for strictly close quarters jig fishing. Obviously there isn't a lot of 20# that fits the CT. I could see the CT on the lightest of the RD rods as well no problem at all. Yes, the CT is much better than the old Steez TN in my opinion!

I haven’t fished a CT but can’t imagine it being leaps and bounds about the TN. The Namiki is no slouch
