Saltwater Fluke Reel Recommendations

Post by craigrbns » Tue May 28, 2019 3:32 pm

Been away from the forum for awhile, but it is time for me to finally buy another new reel. I need a new high end reel to specifically handle weightless Zoom flukes on the flats for sea trout, small reds, flounder, mackerel etc. I will either spool with 12# mono or 20# braid. I am almost finished building the new rod, so it is time to make a purchase.

I have a 100 Conquest (2014) that I must admit seems perfect for this duty since I am already using it for flukes on another rod. However, I am finding it hard to buy another 100 without at least exploring some other options that might entertain me. I was completely excited about the new 200 DC until I found out it is currently only being offered in the 4.8 gear ratio.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations you may have! - Craig

Anybody out there have any opinions on the 17 Exsence DC XG? Especially when it comes to throwing flukes? It's currently my front runner...
