I have a few of the 70s. I like them. Half jerkbait, half chatter bait - both work good for smallies. I use it to fish over / around rip rap and chunk rock for smallmouth. Straight retrieve with occasional rod sweeps. Let it drop when applicable, and rip it back up slowly. I haven't had much luck with it in open water, other than a few times swimming it slowly just above the bottom. I don't fish for largemouth much, but I would imagine it should work well under the right circumstances and conditions.
