New(er) Major Craft Days Rod

Post by rollyourboat » Mon Dec 23, 2019 10:21 am

Hi guys. I'm looking to buy the re-released major craft days rod for semi bfs purposes. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with these rods? I can't seem to find any info on them at all. Not to mention I'd like to know if the powers run true because I've heard MC rods run a little light almost like Phenix rods. Thanks

I have the 6'3" UL SFS spinning rod and the 6'5" UL BFS rod and think they are outstanding for the $. I ended up getting both of them for $280 shipped to my door so for $140 each they are a steal.

The spinning rod weighs 85g and id say is very true to spec, the solid tip is wild and a blast to fish. The BFS casting rod weighs 93g and is rated to 1/32 on the low end but is a more realistic 1/16 low end. Id say the the 1/4 top is feasible for moving baits but I wouldn't try to bottom contact with any more than 3/16.

I also have a custom phenix bfs rod built on a mirage trout blank also rated to 1/32 on the low side and its MUCH softer than the majorcraft.

That's good to know! I plan on getting the 68L. $140 for each though? That's a steal! Wonder where you got them from ;)
