zpi m and pg spools

Post by kyty » Mon Jan 06, 2020 5:29 pm

Need some help. I know these spools are advertised to be for the steez tw sv and zillion tw sv and ryoga and t3. My question is there anything else these spools work in and what is the best spool for what reel. I have 3 m and 2 pg. I have the old steez and was wondering what it would do for it. Also have several other reels. Suggestions?

Generally both spools are pretty fast in the original Steez. Might be good with an SS SV. Haven't tried either with a Tdz - might be a good fit, likely fast, but how fast is the question.

I have a PG in an old TD-Z and it’s an amazing caster. Control and distance across most of the braking range.

Tried the same spool in a Steez sv tw, five casts cost me $15 worth of Tatsu. The first four casts did go quite far though....

What was the issue in the Steez SV TW? I think they are a perfect match for these and the T3.

I wonder how they compare with these spools:

Similar style spools that are light with fixed inductors. The top one is adjustable to three different inductor heights, kinda like MagForce 3D except harder to change.

The jump in control between 75% brake and 50% was way way more then I was expecting. It likely was workable but the spool was so good in the TD-Z that I didn’t test it further in other reels.

Do you own the ray's/top link spool? The adjustable inductor height sounds interesting

I do own one. It is very high quality. I have not been able to fish it yet though.
