Hello Sirs;

I'm looking for a good parabolic rod for swimbaits, I like so much EG rods but I rarely throw swimbaits up to 2 oz... Lenght of this rod its perfect for me but power its until 4oz I'm afraid that it doesn't load well with 1 and 1-1/2oz lures which are the most I use...

Nowadays I'm fishing swimbaits with a Major Craft MSX limited 7.2 XH 3oz regular

What do you think Sirs? Maybe would be better to wait for 2020 model = MH Regular 7' 3oz ...¿?¿?

I've handled the double foot guide variant - I liked it and based on my other EGs (Black Raven and Cobra DG) would definitely choose it for 1-2oz swimbaits and general pike work. The owner of the rod uses it for worming, swimjigs and spinnerbaits etc, all below 1oz. For swimbaits I'd be inclined to not choose the RS version, rather the stronger double foot guides. Action is slightly more parabolic too.

I have the RS version of the rod. I agree with the person above that it would be very good for your intended purpose. I did not know that a longer 7’ version of this rod was coming in 2020. Coincidentally, my only gripe with this rod would be that I wish it were it little longer. If the action and power of the new model is similar, then I wish I could do it over. It’s a great handling rod though; loads of power and a slow to med fast taper that works well for swimbaits, bladed jigs. It’s a great single hook moving bait rod all around. There was a thread sometime ago about sensitive moving bait rods. I’d put this one against anything as a challenger.

Yes, guide train on RS speeds blank up, this is according to the designer, Imae. RS better for jigs / Texas, double foot guide model better for hardbaits. Check out the development page on the Evergreen website.

According to my purpose on throwing max 2.5oz hard swimbaits and also That I prefer more parabolic rod for it , Do you think gyus that RS would fit better ??
