How do you like your high $$$ round reel?

I’m thinking about picking up a round reel for deep diving cranks. I was a fan of the old Abu round reels. Probably go for a Daiwa but a Shimano isn’t out of the question.

Shimano Conquest 200DC 4.8:1 ratio is a dream for deep cranking. That gets my vote.

Another definite vote for a Shimano DC reel. Love my Megabass round reels, but if I could only pick one it'd be a DC...no doubt.

i had the new ryoga 1520 on a black jack for swimbaits that was my first high end round reel i was late to the party. Im more of a shimano guy so it was odd that i didnt get the conquest at the time but i took a chane and really liked the ryoga a lot super smooth and very manageable while casting.

I voted Daiwa but when I think about it I only have one Ryoga and I have several Calcuttas. The reason being that the Calcutta comes in so many sizes and variations while the Ryoga is basically one size with minor variations. Now if they came out with a 50 size Ryoga I would not be able to sleep at night until I had one. For some reason the Luna and the Millionaire just have not excited me.

i really like my Ryoga's
super smooth reel very happy
i just wish they made a wide spool 400 ish size one

I picked Megabass because I have a monoblock I use for cranking. How I need a conquest for swimbaits.

Been using the Calcutta Conquest reels for a few years and they have been amazing in every way.

I had a Ryoga's in both sizes..2020 and 1016. Both were fantastic reels! The did have an edge that liked to wear into my hand after a while..
Currently I have two CV-Z Millionaire variants in my rotation.. M-Ito and Ize Light. Love these for cranks and spinner baits!

I went through this exact dilemma, really wanted to get the new ryoga but the thin gears and not so great spool depth pushed me to the DC200 and I'm very happy with it.
I've even thrown 2oz+ swimbaits and it handled with ease.

I like them all but for deep diving crankbaits if its a true high $$$ reel go all the way and get a LIN 10! That is my favorite deep diving crankbait reel, great caster, so smooth with so much power.

A 250 size, with a deep spool is definitely needed.
