Deep Crank Rod Recommendations
Deep Crank Rod Recommendations
I wanted to get some input on higher end offerings. I prefer a stout less parabolic rod for this technique but haven’t found anything that blows me away. I’ve been using the Dobyns 806cb for the last several years. Curious as to what else is out there..
Re: Deep Crank Rod Recommendations
If you want something more stout for this technique, I'd consider a swimbait (if you're ok with a longer handle) or punching rod (if you prefer a shorter handle).
On the Enthusiast side, what comes to mind is Megabass Onager, Mark 48, or Bunker Buster.
On the USDM side, I've used the Kistler KLX710XXH for just about every moving bait application there is since writing it up last year including big, shallow squarebills and deep cranks. It excels at all of it. The iRod AIR IRA710PRG-H would also make a nice deep cranking stick.
All 5 sticks are written up on the main site.
