'21 Glorious

Post by KP Duty » Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:41 pm

I noticed last night that Tackle Haven's selection of '16 Poison Glorious models took a huge hit since last month. The 6-9xh and a couple of other models I was looking at were now sold out. Just returned to Tackle Haven a minute ago and found the culprit....a new Glorious is coming. I'm sure it's nice, but bland compared to the '16 IMO.

Thanks for the link. So these models are 'in addition to' the '16 models for now? Glad to see they kept the cork on most....I thought we were getting 3 rod lines (adrena/glorious/ultima) distinguished only by a slightly different lockdown nut. I take back my 'bland' comment.

This one has caught my eye. The 3-21g lure rating make me think it's either a solid-tip rod, or functions similar to one. Is this a type of rod that has been in the general Adreana family before?

I could be wrong but I don't think this UL/MH is a solid tip. from what I read it is a new stick evolved from previous 610UL/M with a bit more powerful butt. Arena has the 610UL/M spinning which a friend of mine likes it better than NRX822 DSR :laugh1:

I am on a quest for The One True Weightless Trickworm Rod, so the combo of a super light tip with some real ass behind it is the ideal. MB has some solid tip spinning rods built to that spec, but solid tips scare me a little.

tip diameter of this 610L/MH is 1.7mm, vs. 0.8mm for the 610L-S, which is a true solid tip.

I've done a bit of trick worm fishing and used many solid tip rods, including the Evergreen Spin Serpent which is an incredible stick, I've got total confidence in the solid tip, it isn't stupid thin and works brilliantly, its rated up to 3/16 but I throw heavier rigs also. Not being sure where you fish, the Evergreen Bush Serpent would also be worth a look if you need more butt power. Both rods are built on bait casting style blanks, plenty of backbone.
