Sweet lookin TopWater -- TD Mouthwasher

Post by Golferpimp1 » Sun May 14, 2006 6:39 pm

Check this out, I found it while checking some tackle shops. Its got gills, where the water flows through the mouth and out the gills. http://www.daiwa.com/Lure/

I got my first PopX 6 or 7 years ago and it too has open gills for water to splash thru. Heck of a popper if the topwater bite is 'on'.

Those new TD shallow cranks look nice also. I've been trying to find them online, but haven't had any luck.

I've got a chug n' spit (I think that's the name) that does that, don't think it has a prop in it though.

It's hard to improve on a Chug Bug or Pop-R though. The Pop-R's don't get good until all the paint wears off them though :)

I love fishing those poppers!!! DO you really think it makes a big difference if the water comes through the gills or what? Do you think its WAY better than the chug bug, or the pop r? Maybe so.. I don't know

Cody: I honestly don't think it matter's to the Bass if the water come's thru the gills but the POPX is a great bait in the sound it make's and in it's shape/action.

Easy there buddy, I never said they were better, just said they looked cool for the collector. I do have a pop R that was a bone color and has all the paint worn off and yes it works fine. Dont bash me, I just thought it was a cool lookin bait!!!! Guess I wont post these things anymore>

hey GP, i dont think he was bashin, i think he was askin if the water flowin through the gills produces more strikes or fish catchin ability than topwaters without that feature. ~ at least thats how i read it...~ irax

Yeah you read that wrong, I think he is young, loves to fish, and just real eager to learn whatever he can.

It does me too, I almost feel like it's a wasted trip when the topwater bite isn't on!
Anyone ever tried a Poe's Blurpee? They used to be called a different name, but they produce the loudest pop ever :)
