I think the J dream spool is very well suited to bombing heavier baits especially on thick plastic lines. If I was throwing 2 oz glides or even paddle tails like magdrafts on 16# to 20# fluorocarbon the the J Dream/IP spool would have the right braking profile IMO. An HLC is faster but that slinky of fluorocarbon can't get out of its own way at the rate the HLC can spin making that pairing a nightmare of constant fluoro fluff. The J Dream will be just slow enough to match the rate at which the fluoroslinky can get off the spool giving me a usable range of braking from "that went far" to "that skipped well". Same can be said about my LIN10 BJ. Are they bombers with braid and compact bullet like heavier baits? No, but I have one trick pony spools for that. For the TD Zillion that spool is the HLC.
