I'm also highly considering the Bandersnatch or the Super Destroyer. Looking for an all around rod capable of 1oz baits. I need versatility to throw a buzzbait, spinnerbait, swimjig, and in pinch bottom contact.russ57 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 4:28 amAnyone have any experience with the bandersnatch? Looks like it could be a good all around rod. I absolutely love the green accents and overall look of these rods.
From Japan Lure shop:
"Destroyer's "Bandersnatch", which has taken the world by storm with power games using medium and heavy lures, has been reengineered with "X10" material. In order to finally release the updated rare high spec, it descends into the modern field.
"Bander Snatch" is made for power game players who challenge big fish with aggressive game development such as deep cranking, swimbait, slow roll with heavy spinnerbait.
The lightweight and torqueful characteristics of the "X10" have created a new sensation of blanks where you can immediately experience the high power-to-weight ratio. "Bandersnatch" demonstrates high attack power even in cover games with 3/8 oz. class jigs and Texas. It is a heavy versatile model for challenging monsters from all directions regardless of style, such as powerful "winding fishing" and bold "shooting fishing"."

Re: Megabass 2023 Orochi X 10 rods
P5 Super Destroyer should be it if you can deal with the length; one of those rods that can go buzzbait, swim jig, flip without missing a beat.
However I'm also looking at the X10 rods with interest.
Re: Megabass 2023 Orochi X 10 rods
Just placed a order for the F6.1/2-66XT Destruction 66
I should get it within the week just in time for a Clearlake trip.
I was supposed to get the F3st-611XTS Medusa shipped to me but that hasn't happened yet, so the Destruction will do for now.

Just received the Medusa, I like it we'll see how we'll it works out for 1/16 darker heads.

The Destruction also came in, it's going to make a great close quarters larger bait rod.

I know it's sacrilege to some, but a Conquest DC would look amazing on one of those sticks.

I agree! Brand loyalty is brainwashing at a capital level. I use what works, what I like, and most importantly, what looks good. Currently have SLP knobs on my Scorpion MGL 150 and love it.Gone Phishin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 6:56 pmI know it's sacrilege to some, but a Conquest DC would look amazing on one of those sticks.
Re: Megabass 2023 Orochi X 10 rods
Bandersnatch showed up today. I'm quite pleased. I'm coming from mostly Dobyns rods, Champs, Sierras, and Kadens. My only experience with Megabass and only other Megabass rod I own is the Triza Dragoon, so take my thoughts with that context.
Haven't fished the rod yet. In hand it feels light and well balanced. Action matches the description. It seems somewhat fast, but then bends deep with a little more pressure. I didn't flex it much. Don't like flexing rods except on fish. It feels like it could handle up to 1oz as described. We will see when fished. Details are very nice. I'm a fan.
On the wraps, in between the blue and green is a thin line of pink to maybe purple. Digging those little details.

Re: Megabass 2023 Orochi X 10 rods
I was able to fish it once before winter hit and work picked up. Caught 3 dinks. The rod felt good to me. Fished like a fast action and it surprised me how deep it loaded even on those one poundish dinks. I was throwing swimjigs and spinner baits.russ57 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:38 amAny time on the water with the rod/pics of balance point?Preston wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 2:38 amBandersnatch showed up today. Balance with the Zillion is right at the top of the lock nut.
Re: Megabass 2023 Orochi X 10 rods
Anyone have experience with the Swamp Survivor and how does it compare to the P5 Tequila Baccarac? Thanks
Re: Megabass 2023 Orochi X 10 rods
This is the best take on this so far.
PotatoLake wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 7:37 pmOk, I've had two weekends with mine, I got two and moved one to offset some shipping costs. It's got that Megabass softness to it, but not in a bad way. I think it'll be a versatile stick where having a nice tip to fling the frogs will help. If you like stiff frog rods then don't acquire one. Yes on rats and wakes. Bottom contact will again depend on what you want out of a rod with that technique. Some guys like super extra stiff rods NRX style. I have no exposure to the Hyuga so I can't compare. But so far I'm liking it. I'd say it's in the realm of what you would expect a Tequila Baccarac to do for you if that makes sense.LowRange wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 3:54 pmLet's us know your impressions of the swap survivor. I'd like to know if it can be an mag heavy rod for frogs, big Texas rigs, jigs and rats. A Hyuga 72H type rod that you can actually fish tip up and do bottom contact.PotatoLake wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 3:46 amI went with the Cliffhanger and the Swamp Survivor. I'd be glad to post my thoughts and a few pics when they get in. From the photos I've seen of folks who got them in today, they are very beautiful. My hope is they're balanced well to offset their weight.
