Daiwa Steez Werewolf

Post by evilcatfish » Sun Aug 06, 2023 7:47 am

Anybody have experience with this rod? I’ve been looking at getting a compact ML+ to M versatile rod and came across the werewolf. Was originally planning to buy a NRX+ 802c but as usual, veered off course and went down the JDM rabbit hole

I had the older one, 661mfb-sv, it was a weak Medium, fast to slow taper which was considered baitfinesss back then. Sounds like the new werewolf power plus has been bumped close to true Medium like machine gun cast type 1.5. I'm sure it will make a nice close qtr all around stick.

I have the old one too it is designed as a jig rod. Sensitive is the best I have fished and it is the best rod for 5~10gram jigs ever! Great bottom contact rod, which it is still versatile enough to fish some treble lures
