My littlebrothers small personal best pike!!!!

This is my brothers kinda small personal best pike!! its very thick, the weight is 5 kg!!! ffrom stockholm sweden!!

What rod/reel was used?

The reel: calcutta te dc 200
The rod: a swedish rod called berkley signa pike. or did he use the beastmaster.......im not sure

we usually use the calcutta te 300 for pike just incase the big one comes
the pikes can get really big here not unusal with 10 kg pikes and sometime 15-20 kg pike not for us yet

What bait did you use, artificials or live bait ?

Thats a good sized pike, if you consider that small you should see the hammer handles I cacth here

the bait was an artificial bait called zalt, its an old classic swedish bait that cathes a lot of really big pikes, i also caught my 7 and 6 kg pikes on zalt

In sweden this is a kinda small personal best but sweden has a lot of big pikes in lakes and in the sea, this is caught like 1 km from home at sea !!, since he is only 15 yearsold its an okay PB

let me just say that this is not a very small pike, its kind od average of what you usually catch when you go fishing in spring or autumn maybe summer to, but its kinda small to be a personal best pike

i mean now there is a roomer that somebody caught a 20,4 kg pike and last week it was 19,3 kg pike and every week there is many new 8-12 kg pikes too see at swedish fishing sites, so we hope to catch bigger soon, but its the worst season now

Hmmm, we dont get Pike here in South Africa, there is a small version up in central africa, called a Kafue Pike ( from the name of the river it is caught in ) Northern Zimbabwe and Zambia I think, when I was 2 bricks and a tickey high my pappy used to catch them, they must give a fine fight.

i dont know if its the same pike but when the pikes here get over 3 kg they give a very nice fight!!
