8/6/06--Two Hot weather Bass

Post by Lightninrod » Sun Aug 06, 2006 11:45 am

Went to the swamp pond today after skunking out at the Ocmulgee PFA yesterday. Started at 10:30 AM and quit at 1:30 PM with air temps in the high 90s, water temp up to 90, clouds, no wind, and bright sunshine.

Caught 7 but took pics of only two. All were caught in the shallow water, from 2'-4'. Couldn't get any bites on two cr/baits, a topwater or a Nemire buzzer. All Bass came on a T-rigged Zoom Vibra-tail Speed Worm and a T-rigged Paca Craw.

4 lber--Speed Worm

Same

Paca Craw 2 lber

Nice fish Dan!

How are you fishing those ultra vibe worms? I see you have them Texas rigged, but are you creeping them along the bottom or fishing them fast?

Last year I buzzed(V tail pointed down!) them but this year, all my Bass have come off of the bottom, just hopping it.

Thanks PBF. Btw, I'm picking up my 2001 F150 Lightning tomorrow after an engine replacement. I scored two sets of rod bushings due to an oil problem. I lucked out and got a brand new 2002 L engine(not including the intercooler or s/c'r) from Kar Kraft Engineering. It had never been fired!

Nice fish. I like the way you take your pictures, I've been just holding them straight out and snapping just the fish and my hand holding it. I'm going to try your way tomarrow.

Thank you but you'll need a tripod to do that. I use that one instead of a 'cheapy' as I lost a camera to 12' of cold, dirty water a few yearss ago when the tripod clamp worked loose.

Good Luck and looking forward to your pics.
