Best bass for me in a while

Post by Shrike » Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:29 pm

My best for the day. This one put up an awesome fight! I was using 8lbs test mono and this thing would not get in the boat! I'm a horrible judge of size but I would say it is at least 3lbs. I need a scale.

I would say 3 pounds seems like a fair guess. Bass are hard to tell in pictures how much they weight.

What were you using alphas ito, blue black jig, rod?

It's a 1/8 oz spinner bait. It casts a mile with that alphas ito :D

The fish is bigger than it looks in the pic. I'm holding the fish all the way out but i'm holding the pole between my legs  so it's much closer making the reel look big and the fish look smaller.

heres another pic of the same fish

I would say closer to 4 lbs...but pictures are kinda tricky. It could be 5 or 6...? Did you get a length measurement on her? 1/8 ounce spinnerbait...NICE!! ;) 8-)

Looks like it could be 4-6lbs.

What kind of rod do you have the Alphas Ito on?

The rod is a Daiwa Megaforce 6'6" Medium Heavy that I got at Dick's for 20 bucks  It's a temperary setup but it's actually not a bad rod, very light.
