it looks like a old Poloroid camera with a reel handle on it

I don't know if Cal's got one, but I've got one new in box. It is a Ryobi computer controlled reel. The large flat piece over the level wind is the battery to run the computer processor. The processor controlled the spool similar to the way the Shimano does, but not very efficiently. This reel also had an automatic drag control that you could change while fighting the fish without touching the drag wheel. The reel came with a battery charger that you could charge from your boat while going down the lake. However, it weighed a ton, didn't work very well, and had too many goodies and gadgets on it. It came out in 1988 and lasted for a couple of years.
