Shimano Boron Rod + Older Yozuri Baits

Post by dhuie » Fri Jun 29, 2007 8:56 pm

Hi Guys,

Maybe ROG would like to chime in on the Boron rod.
I got this off an estate sale, there were actually 2 of them, but I sold 1 to pay for both :D. The rest are some of my Older Yozuri Baits.

Cheers

New! The grip is alittle heavy, but otherwise nice.

Shimano Bantam Boron rods first appeared in the Shimano 1982 catalog. There are collectors of those Shimano rods with the Colfor handle, as well as the fightin' rods. Isn't it amazing how we have changed the average rod from one of 5'6" to one of 6'6"-7' in just 25 years?

The same thing was done in the late 1800's into the early 1900s. In about 25 years the fisherman of that day went from an 8'6" bass rod to one that was 4'6" to 6'. Exactly the opposite of what happened 100 years later. And the under 6' bass rod reigned supreme for almost a century.

ROG, Thanks for the morsel of infomation. Colfor handle = pistol grip? Yep, I been bugged a coupla times to part with it but could not bring myself to. I got it paired up with a Bantam Mag 201 SG (8.5/10 cosmectics) and they are a perfect match.

Do you know if there were any 2 speed fighting star low profile shimano baitcasting reels made in lefties?

Cheers

I don't believe any of the two speed low profile reels were made in left hand versions. At least I don't own any, and I haven't seen them listed in their catalogs.
