Oh btw, the reason i fell for this reel was because you had posted a picture of the Okumura Zillion some months ago :D . I had sleepless nights after seing "that" picture. Now, the monkey as been finally laid to rest, for the time being ;)

Deps is basically a Japanese bass lure company, and K. Okumura is the founder. Kind of like Yuki Ito of Megabass.

There are more differences in this reel than just the braking over a stock Zillion.

230g
11 BB 1RB
16lb 100m
6,3: 1
Drag 6kg
super duralmin spool
MagForceV

I am pretty sure I tranlsated that it was 90MM handle modified down to 74mm

upgraded gears, high intensity C6191 special alloy, this is the material used in the Zaltiga gearing.

Strongest gearing in a Daiwa baitcaster to date.

Tried the reel today and I was pretty impressed. As i'm used to Pixies, this is something rather different to me. It's build rock solid. it's a bad boy reel with shear power. Spool rotation isn't as free as the pixy or alphas. I was casting 1/4OZ spinnerbaits into cover with 20lb PPro. the stock drag is very strong (never tested the actual rating on scales). strangely, the 74mm handle felt rather comfortable. I felt that it's performance could have been better if it were to be tuned by D.R. ;) . I wish I could draw some comparison with that of a stock Zillion. but sadly, I've never owned a stock Zillion and can't make any further comparisons.

I have a stock domestic Zillion. Send that one to me and I'll make a comparison :big grin:

Pretty sure it's only for FW use only, as it say on the user guide manual ;)

Hmmm... :-k . Again, if my memory serves me correct, the HLC is also a FW specific reel. If the ZDV is available, i suggest that you grab one as they are very limited. one way to solve your problem is not to fish saltwater and move to freshwater instead ;) for saltwater, the Calcuttas are way better. that's my take.
