Painted Reels sticky...gone but not forgotten
Well my friends, it seems that the destruction of the forums wiped the painted reels sticky, which is unfortunate to say the least. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone else's handiwork and unique pieces, so how about we start it up again?
Please post pics of your custom painted reels! I need some inspiration!

Re: Painted Reels sticky...gone but not forgotten
ok...here's one to get it started...a BPS custom I did...my first paint job
There's definitely room for improvement, but hey, not bad for the first time, huh?
In the second pic, you can see where I tried to touch it up where I accidentally dropped the sideplate before the clear went on. A tip to those of you who are going to try this: one color CANNOT touch up 4 layers of colors.

Re: Painted Reels sticky...gone but not forgotten
Thanks. I figure it was a good way to make a $9 reel look and perform a lot better. The handle is a 100mm I found, from some old browning reel, and the star drag and tension cap are from the same reel. I replaced the bushing under the tension cap with a bearing, and put 4 more in the handle, two in each knob. Cheap upgrades, but pretty effective, using junk reels to frankenstein.

The green and black td-z and the shimano would be Pizz Customs. I don't know pizz personally, but have seen him around this and other forums, and he seems to be a pretty good guy. I know the work he does is stunning.
