My Project Sol

Post by urbnimports » Wed Apr 13, 2011 8:42 am

So I finally decided to post up some pictures of my SOL now that its just about complete. Since the reel is brand new to me this year (RIP old sol) I didn't do any internal work yet. Here is a list of what was done to this setup so far.

Daiwa Sol-L:
JDM braking screw painted black with orange insert underneath
Steez braking knob with orange ring
EVA knobs with orange caps
Tension knob painted black
JDM drag star in black
Type R spool (gold)
Ito swept handle
Handle nut screw painted black
Handle nut retainer painted orange (not shown)
Daiwa Sol Rod (thanks jay!)

Thanks everyone...the spool i ordered from japan tackle, the rod was bought from cjmartin along with the drag star and the rest of the parts came from daiwa direct. The handle was ordered from MBUSA, the knobs from ebay and i can't wait for some boca bearings!! I want to do the entire reel including the wormdrive and carbontex will be on order very soon.
