Out with the Old....
Out with the Old....
Well, Old man winter isnt packing the same punch this time of year up here in NJ, so I harassed a good buddy of mine to take me to his little treasure of a lake. Temps were a frigid 38, and ice was starting to form in isolated pockets on the surface, but that didnt stop us. Together we hauled in 15 greenies, and i topped my personal best with this beast. It was a nice way to end the year

Pained expression on your face, I would have a sh*t eating grin after catching a beauty like that. Congrats on the fish and I hope you catch even a bigger one in 2012.

Good work!!
Re: Out with the Old....
Thanks Guys-
Just before this I was slow retrieving a ROF 5 perch colored hudd across a drop off - and felt a huge tug - but my hook set came up empty. Decided I was being played the fool- so switched to the "Binsky" rig - and fired over the same line of retrieve. Two fluttering drops and she slammed it - gave a good fight too for december. She nearly spit the hook - so it was touch and go getting her boated as only one treble hook was barely holding her. I was shocked I landed her to be honest - the rim of cartilage being held by the hook was literally the width of a quarter - hence my disbelief.
Sometimes its good to be lucky

The Big NJ girls are really out this past month. I caught my personal best about a month ago. I don't know the exact weight but I know it was better than 6. You know there good when they have golf balls for eyes.
