I got out for a few hours this afternoon and actually had a little luck. Caught 6 in all but the day could've been much better as I had 8 bites on a frog but was only able to land 3. The rest either missed the bait or just had the legs, several swirled behind it. It won't be long now though until it will be right  !

As you can see in the pics I caught the spot on the frog and the largemouth flipping mats.

First good fish of 2015... I didn't have time to drag the boat out so I beat the banks at a local city lake.

Got out early before work and landed a nice one on a PopX. Looked like a hybrid, red eyes, smallish mouth, body of a largie.

Hit it as soon as it hit the water 30 yards or so along the reeds. Alphas 105h loaded with 10 pound stren holds just enough to bomb poppers. Rod is Edge eff 693c.

Chunky!

On a side note, being from CA, I think I am not used to northern strain bass. I spoke to someone who told me that bass I caught is a largie, just not a bucket mouth FL strain I'm used to. It sure put up a fight.
