Wow that's a deep trout. How'd the little Teton handle it?southpaw619 wrote:Trout season at the local put and take lakes started recently.

That trout came from heavy structure and the UL bullied it in. These rods have tremendous power when playing fish but are very fragile when under pressure without full bend in rod.LowRange wrote:Wow that's a deep trout. Those trout look like they were hooked up directly to the pellet dispenser at the hatchery and not allowed to move.southpaw619 wrote:Trout season at the local put and take lakes started recently.

PB 6.18lbs 21×16.5. I caught her on a quantum kvd 7'6" XH telescopic rod, Shimano citica 200E, 50lb PP and a 4" 1.5 oz prop bait. I think the big girls up here take ducklings.

I love to target big trout. They act IMO much like a largemouth when they get big. Lots of head shakes, wallowing around and even start jumping on occasion. Here's a few giant speckled trout in the 6-8lb range, caught from the kayak in the darkness on a linethru rigged 4.8" Jackall Rhythm Wave, using a NRX 842c w/Ch CI4+ HG or '13 Met HG.
