Went away on a weeks holiday with a friend earlier last month. Got a new PB for the lake on my favourite rod quality fish all week just not many giants.

5lbs 14oz Long and skinny but what a hard fighting fish.

Just got back from some Northern Fall Bassin.

Trees starting to change colours. When we started we were fishing 73 degree water. Was 67 when we left a couple days later.

The girls are just starting to build their bellies. :)

Mostly on RI double wides but dads fish fell to senkos mainly.

All fish in the shallows still. Nothing deeper than 4'. Many under 18" of water. Blasting double wides through the pads never gets old!

Trophy trout just keep biting. They have been destroying the Flash Minnow 95MR lately.

Approx. 5-6 kg atlantic salmon on St Croix Legend Elite 9’6” 1/4-3/4 oz and Daiwa Ryoga 1016HL silver version. Not a PB but beautiful fish on relatively light tackle.

The guy in the middle picture looks like Denny Brauer's long lost brother! :D Is he a jig fisherman?

that is my father, my hero, and the best fisherman I know.

he basically uses senkos and craw imitations on his spinning tackle.

constantly reminds the rest of us how easy fishing "can be" if you want it to be :)

Very nice. One of my tournament buddy's dad is the same way. He does nothing but keep it simple by dragging a salt and pepper grub on a spitshot rig and spinning tackle, and he always seems to catch them. My buddy says that he never even gets out of his chair in the boat. There's much to be said for keeping it simple.

This is how you make an 8.15 look like a world record. Thanks to Stan, the dock attendant at DVL, for making me feel better about myself  . It was really a slow day otherwise, and the picture helped. Only five fish total.
This fish was a retread next to the launch ramp. At least I know what big retreads like ;) . The summer night tournaments beat these fish to death. I was able to walk it over and release it where I caught it after I put the boat on the rack and snapped a picture.

Easy , yes, but not nearly as fun as spending thousands of dollars on rods, reels, tackle :big grin: :crying:  ](*,)  etc. Lol

absolutely!

He calls my NRX's "funny blue rods" that don't work. he refers to the 9 reel seat failures he's been on the boat for (and one as recent as this last trip).

tells me I need to upgrade to his St Criox Avid :)

"my reels don't fall off, son" =D>

Doing some cranking on the river the other day, and stuck this monster. I was cranking a RC 2.5DD through a creek mouth that meets the river when it got crushed! Always love these giant surprises! Caught on a 7’H Cumara and Stile SS PG.
